About Dr. Davis

Dr Jim Davis

"My initial interest in medicine was as a healthcare reformer. I had it in mind that what needed to be done was to turn the practice of medicine toward disease prevention and health advancement by utilizing natural healing methods. With this in mind, I became a student at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine where I absorbed the principles and practice of Osteopathic Medicine — the premier system of Manual Medicine in the US today.

"This knowledge of the underlying unity of the body and the ability to assist the body's self-healing mechanisms with Osteopathic Manipulation became my primary interest. However, even before completing my studies there in 1986, I became aware of Ayurveda: the world's most ancient and complete natural healthcare system. This was the perfect complement to my Osteopathic training. I began my General Practice after graduation, but also spent the next few years attending a series of Maharishi Ayurveda physician's training programs. Since then I have continued my Holistic General Practice, helping patients integrate the principles of health and balance, ancient and modern. Additionally I have served as Associate Medical Director for the Dallas Center for Chronic Disorders — an inpatient Maharishi Vedic Medicine clinic from 1997-2000 and was appointed to the teaching faculty of Maharishi College of Vedic Medicine in August of 2002. I have been a featured speaker at numerous events including the World Wellness Expos in Denver and Austin in 2007, Namaste International Yoga Teacher Training programs 2006-2008, and in-service training for the staff of Maharishi Ayurveda Products International, Whole Foods Market, and The Crossings Wellness Spa in Austin Texas."
